If a mantis is fucked up enough to eat its own mate, imagine what it'd do to the spider.

The other day my friend Matt caught this huge poisonous spider and put it in an empty 2 liter soda bottle.
Then today one of my other friends caught a praying mantis and decided that he wanted to battle his praying mantis against the spider.
At first I was like "dude the spider will kill it" but then I remembered this thing I saw on the discovery channel about praying mantises and on the show this hella big one caught a fucking humming bird and ate it. The one my friend has isn't big enough to do that, but still. They're pretty hardcore.
They're gonna make them fight later today. Just wondering which one you think would win ('cause I'm bored).
Oh man, if we got a hold of a Clock Spider size spider, that would be awesome. I would make it fight like a rat or something.

I dunno man, this spider is pretty hardcore. It tried EATING my friend's cell phone (the thing started to spin a web around the antenna).
You are going to video tape this, right? I bet you a lot of those funny video sites would like to put it up. Especially if you knocked over the 2 liter and both the bugs kicked you all's asses. XP
I think they won't fight and will become bestest buddies. =D

EDIT:: I'd really prefer the mantis to win but I'm just using my brain:
Spider eats insects, Praying Mantis = insect, Spider wins.
Praying Mantis eats insects, Spider = arachnid, Mantis loses.
Yeah...but after looking at that...it doesn't make a lot of sense...or does it...crap now i'm confused...

Don't spiders do that too? Certain female spiders eat their own mates. Still, I like praying mantises more so I'll go with that.

Better watch out I mean insect lovers will say your abusing them.Anyway thw spider seems like it will win ,spider get insanely huge in africa the same as mantis.But the spiders all the way.

I use to catch prayin mantis' when I was little, but then they all vanished. Did they like become endangered or something O.O
My bet is on the praying mantis btw. I once put 2 of those in a small bug cage and they beat the **** out of each other. The green one tore off the brown ones arm and started eating it >_< (I think it was eating it, I don't remember, it might've beent rying to rip the head off or something).
BTW, theres this big ass spider outside my window, I haven't opened it for the past week in fear that the spider might come inside.
My money is on nothing will happen. Hell, they might even become good friends, and you and your pals will end up doing something to them liek I used too do. Like cutting off all the leggs on the spider, or getting toothpicks and sticking them inside of both creatures...
I totally say you get some good vid shots of it. Then you could make a "OWNED" vid out of it...
Incase they do fight: My vote goes for the Cat, or snake, that comes by snaging both.
