the mario arcade game released was mario bors. it was with the 3 levels and the enemies comin out of the pipes u had to kill

castle wolfenstein, and the compant is ID software if i remember right..... duke nukem was a revolutionizing fps but not the first it was released in 96', released by 3-d realms.

i didnt read ur link at all, cause i thought i was just some off topic crap..... i happen to know alot about games, and play duke nukem alot, and downloaded wolfenstein two days ago

I guess I should have been more specific: I meant the modern style FPS, for which vash_stampede guessed correctly, not anything that may have been a basis for it. Wolfenstein 3D was the first true FPS, in the current sense, while Spasim may have been a basis of sorts, it was not really a FPS per sé. It was more along the lines of a simulator, especially with the second release, which you can view details on at the link to some guy's personal page that's offered from the wikipedia link TheChort offered.

Anyways, since it's now open question (one of you guys should have posted one ) I'll post another one. Here goes...

What are the Japanese names of Bison, Balrog, Akuma, Charlie, and Katana of the Street Fighter series?

No, I said you already got it right, first modern style FPS was Wolfenstein 3D. I meant I needed to clarify cuz I didn't mean old school ship sims when I said FPS . And I can't believe you've never played SF before...wow...that's just...wow...seriously, greatest fighting series ever, go play any SF game you can get your hands on...

ds isnt a gameboy, its just "nintendo daul screen" as stated in a press conference the DS was never made to replace the GBA but more of a side project...... damn i didnt read the question right, it said console damn.... i isted arcadeso well, someones gotta answer that street fighter question
