Calm the hell down, we don't need a flame war going, god damn. Anyways if you start reading other thing like maybe THE FRICKING PLOT then maybe you would change your mind about how "this book suxs" Because it was actually a really good book and I enjoyed it. Guess that eans I have no taste in books huh? Maybe you can realize for once in your life that people have different opinions, and a good book to one person can be a bad book to another. It doesn't mean they have bad taste, just different. Take some Midol, I don't care if your a guy or not, take some. And go to sleep.

Obviously a big portion of the world has bad taste, as this book sold a lot and made someone a pretty big chunk of cash. You're not a very good critique, hating this book because it's too long. I'll admit I don't think it's anything special though.

Now he's calling us freaks.
First of all, picture books don't count. Second, out of the millions of people who bought Harry Potter, how many of them do you think are older, and have read more books than you? You're right though, I haven't read tons of books. Four thousand pounds worth of books, no way, unless of course you count dictionaries that I've scanned through when looking for words or something. Third, you might read books, but you're obviously not taking much in. If, in fact, you have read tons of books, your grammar and spelling should be better than this, even if the books you've read are only picture books. So you don't lilke the series (I'm guessing you meant that and not books), people really don't care. It's like saying OMG Linkin Park is the best/worst band in the world.
Ohh and don't double post. Use edit.

Oh, I guess I overlooked that because of your poor spelling and grammar. Go to nightschool and save me the trouble of making the same mistake.
As for the 5th book, J.K. Rowling's saving her best ideas for last.... hopefully. Maybe her 6th book coming out later this year will make up for it.

Your conforming with the non-conformist. If you don't like a book, that's fine, but that doesn't mean it's a bad peice of literature. Also, you're "OMGOMG i m a 9 yearz o1d grlz!!!11one" style of typing doesn't make your argument very convincing.

You just contradicted yourself... Do you know why we have grammar and spelling? It's to make it legible and easy to read and understand. You need spelling, at least, because it's easier to read since I'm reading and writing a report about Homo floresiensis thats due in one hour and fourty two minutes. howwouldyoulikeitifitypedlikethisthewholetimeitwou ldreallybehardtoreadwouuldntit

*Sigh* I was showing an example. Anyway back to the topic, I'm going to get that book, but not with my own money. Either my sister or mom is going to buy it, and I'll just take and read it. It'll be good to read during a long trip on the plane in the summer, when it comes out.

Yeah people can't complain about a book they haven't read yet, but I'm trying to get back on topic on Harry Potter. I was talking about the whole thing in general, as a series. As for when I put the word that, I'm busy doing an article which I'm pretending is interesting which is due in one hour now, so you'll excuse me if I thought I typed what I thought.

I honestly think you're a complete idiot. Most classic/good authors are mainstream. If they weren't good, they would not have made such a reputation. Some people stay unknown because the suck. For example, Shakespeare is "mainstream", as is Mark Twain, Ernest Hemmingway, John Steinbeck, Tennesse Williams, Flannery O'Connor, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Jack Kerouac, Nathaniel Hawthorne, George Orwell, Ayn Rand, James Baldiwn, Miguel de Cervantes, Allan Ginsberg, and J.R.R. Tolkien, just to name a few. I have read all of these, and thousands more. Frankly, you obviously have not read enough tasteful and classic literature to recognize good writing when it's under your nose. You lack of grammar usage alludes that you have not taken a decent English class to prove that you have read enough high-level books to set a high standard. People like you disgust me.
You say that you don't want to read about other's prepubestcent problems, yet I'm sure you watch some teen drama or have read one. In the fifth book, Harry's 16. I didn't know prepubescent went past 12-13.
Oh, and look, it is possible to use pretty decent grammar in a post, even without trying! Also, your large amount of postings in this thread defending your opinion would suggest you don't have much of a life, either.

Um, did you just need a place to vent things out?
Listen, everyone's got different tastes. Maybe you didn't take not that perhaps Harry Potter is not expected to be something of a 'grown-up' novel, and are not aimed for certain readers. It's plot is probably something too sophisticated for you to follow along. Or maybe you refuse to relate yourself to such problems? If it was so bad, then why would people pay money to buy the books and make movies out of it? Well, I say good luck to you, you might have just started a thread that can lure a mob of angry readers. I'm just going to watch and enjoy. Heh, good luck.
Besides, a book wouldn't be good in your opinion if it hit you in the face. Personally, if one *did* hit me in the face, I'd want to burn the person who threw it at me.
If you've read so many books that it would give you the conclusion that Harry Potter is the worst book in the world, then how *old* are you? You must be like, fourty by now. No one can read a ton of books and say that it's the worst on ever made.
Oh, and if you just wanted to point us in the right direction, you're going to have to fix up your english, and learn how to review properly. REAL book reviewers are constructive, and certainly not distasteful to other readers.
You've just made some bad rep for yourself with some people.
I'm sorry that you're so biased. I give you my sympathy.

Actually I didn't really like the fifth book either. There was a lot of filler crap when it's just the two events at the end that are the good parts.
Harry's getting a bit too angsty for me as well. He has about 5 blow-ups for no reason (like this guy) and everything just sucks for him. I figure that by the time he finally meets Voldemort, Harry's going to have no problem going ape**** on him, and ripping out ol' V's throat.
Lovely thread, I love his calm cool manner in discussing the topic, along with his choice of words. I would like to see some examples of what you think is "better" readership.

Alright, NEVER say those kind of things about Harry Potter again...especially the 5th book. That was the best one so far besides book 3. And we're not freaks either man. Just because people enjoy something doesn't make them freaks. And if you didn't like the book, why'd you finish it?

ha ha. There are so many I agree with...but I just find your's amuzing to some extent. And you are right, ranma 1490 has YET to give us an example of what a good book is. That would be interesting now wouldn't it. What is a good book might I ask?
I'm guessing that because I love Harry Potter that ALL the other many books I've read are terrible books. By the time I have my own house I may have a small library of them. *sarcasm* The Lord of the Rings...oh god what a terrible book. The Things They Carried...wow I learned nothing from that. Voyage of Jeryle Shannara..... ....and I can go on and on. I don't think I should though..or I'd write a book about the books I've read.

Ranma, you seriously have no life. If you've nothing better to do than arguw with people constantly about how ONE FRICKING BOOK SUCKS, then you have problems. Nobody said that the fifth Harry Potter book was the greatest book in the world. Just drop it, god damn. If we're no life idiots because we like a book, then your a no life idiot for anything you like too. It's pointless to argue on the internet about a book, and whether it's good or not. It's called an opinion, and they're different for different people. Just because they're different, doesn't make them stupid, so go do whatever idiot things you like to do.

I was reading at a college level in 7th grade, and I was only 11. I'm now 16 in AP classes that go beyond English 101-102 in the Universities.
So you're saying you are actually sick of all the merchandising and not the book itself. Well that's just fine, but now you're changing your story. I really like how you couldn't adequately rebuttle my points.
Maybe if you read some people's posts, you would learn that in this forum grammar is greatly appreciated and you gain respect from it. By the way you type, you're making yourself look like a complete ass. This isn't an IM conversation, you have time to type out words like "any" (which would only be one more letter), "ppl", "u/ur", "y", etc. Just a note.
