Hey guys... I'm currently reading A Tale of Two Cities because it's a required 8th grade book and I just thought I'd let you all know that this book makes me want to shoot myself.

haha... honestly, I don't really like how it takes him three paragraphs to say things I could say in five GOOD sentences. I don't know about you other people who've read this book, but I honestly think it's a waste of time and a piece of *****.

Oh, and in case you didn't know... I would NOT recommend this book.

It's required in 8th grade? I read that in 9th grade honors english, a few months ago. It was the best book to that point I had read in that class. Book the Third is good though. The first two are just like 'ehhhh' The first two bored the hell out of me for sure.

I finished reading that book last month. I had to read it for my 9th grade honors english class. I thought the book was actually quite good. Cliff notes really help you actually understand the book. If ya need help on it feel free to ask me.

That book was pretty boring. But it does a really good job using good diction in describing the French Revolution.

Oh yea, thanks CrAzYaZnGuRl for the IM. That seriously made my day.

I don't want to read it just because it's by Charles ****ens. I've read Great expectations and Oliver Twist and both of them are really boring. ****ens is known for being wordy, which is one of the reasons I don't like his books.

Aww I'm really glad it meant something to you. ^^ Happy B*day again, hun!

Anyway.... wow it's a 9 grade honors english book?!??!?! Urgh... it kind of sucks because I'm already 1 year younger than everyone because I skipped a grade so basically I'm a 7th grader reading this book?

I think I'd enjoy the book if it was written in ENGLISH. haha... just kidding... but the story's pretty cool... I just hate the way he writes.

I read it back in World History Honors in 10th grade. One of the best books I had to read in high school, though that doesn't mean anything. The begining is god-awful slow, but the actual revolution part was cool.

Okay okay... I just finished the book *thank god THANK GOD AHH*

And I have to say....

the book is actually good after page 300.

So... it's a waste of life the first 300 pages and then you start going "wow cool story."

Hehe, anyway... I'm glad I'll never have to read it again. ^^

i loved a tale of two cities! its better than any other book you'll have to read in the years to come (besides macbeth), like 'of mice and men' and 'a tree grows in brooklyn' and 'the scarlet letter'
you think a tale of two cities is bad? just WAIT till you have to read the scarlet letter. basically, the whole book is her moaning and groaning about how she has a scarlet letter on her clothes, how her daughter is a little demon, and how the father is just a coward.

lol that book sucked....especially when they look up and see a big "A" shaped meteor or something...(how often does that happen?)

Moby **** is kinda bad too. Theres a whole chapter describing a bowl of chowder...with excruciating detail.

But tale of 2 citites wasnt too bad. i just didnt like the ending.

I don't know what page 300 was, as copies differ, but did I not tell you the end gets better :P

But no way... Of Mice and Men > A Tale of Two Cities.

You think those sucked? Try reading A House On Mango Street. I say "try" because your mind will rot after about the fifth page.
