Old Chinese novel that Dynasty Warriors and other games was based off of. About 1100-1700 pages from what I researched. Has anyone read it? I'm hopefully going to get it. People said it's really good. There's a site that hosts it but I don't wanna bother reading it on there.

I've heard of this book too, but I never got interested enough to read it. Is it about China?

Yea, Iv read it. Its great! Very entertaining.
If nothing else,I learned that anciant Chinese warriors were not all the wise-old men history portreys them as.
My fave clan (Wu) Is just a bunch of bored teenagers who decided to take over China for the hell of it.

Its pretty hilarious. So many little stories I could tell you from it, but I dont want to spoil it.

Have you found a copy of it in English yet? It took me forever to find a copy. I had to go to Ebay and even then it took a while to find the right version of it.

I found it on that site too, but if its the same site Im thinking about, the guy in charge of the site and ML is a total duoche bag, Im not giving him any hits.

I've been searching for a good, translated copy for several years now. Usually a large library will have the ROTK in Chinese with linguistic notes written on the side panels.

Basically it's a book documenting the events of War-torn China from 187 AD to 268 AD or so. The best sources of information about it can be found at Kong Rong's Website.

Which I lost the address to. I'll try and find it and post the link to it later on.

Yes it is a whole set of Novels. They're sold in volumes and sets and such. The Three Kingdoms site is
www.threekingdoms.com
There's a translated copy on that. A link to Amazon/Ebay to buy it in it's English version with side notes.

I have the 3 books.
I got them last Christmas from Ebay. That's probably the only place that you can find them now. I asked Barnes and Nobles to order a copy for me, but after 4 months I gave up on them.

I've only read the first one, 'cause I have no time to read something that's not for school, but the part I laughed at was when Cao Song tried to free one of his concubines from a raid inside the Wei camp...Haha...she was too heavy to get over the wall...Haha...
...Eerr.

But anyway,
It's a pretty bloody, chopping off limbs kinda novel too.
Gotta love that.

i should be abel to find it for you at a good price, but it might take awhile because most of the sites are probably down.

I paid attention to the story line in Dynasty Warriors. I've seen the book before, never read it. I'm sure it would be great. If you think the guys in the game were over powered, wait till you read about them in old literature. Cao Cao is like an angry god in the book.

I've read bits and peices of it...Like the part where the sorceress visits Cao Cao! That was cool! And yes, Wu is very much kickass. Especially Zhou Tai. The ultimate bodyguard.

Zhu Ge Liang pwns everyone else. If you're Chinese, you've probably seen the old TV series. Those were pretty good, my Mom watched it everyday in China when it was on.

that thing was amazing. i watched the first half of it on vcd.I definitly need to go buy them. $100 bucks for bootlegged vcds is a price that I'm willing to risk getting caught by customs.

it shouldn't even be that expensive. not that i own bootleg vcds ::shifty eyes::, but the ones i got were probably only 50 dollars, and there were about twenty discs so it was well worth it.
