over the summer...I went to California to visit an old friend...we were checking out the book store and I started to wander into the "Eastern Philosophy" section...up until then, my parents had been trying to force Buddhism on me...and I hated it...but a book title caught my eye...and then another...and I was hooked...
the first book I bought was Dharma Punx by Noah Levine...that book totally hit me...it was amazing...it's a memoir about his life and how Buddhism changed it...he was a washed up drug addict...thought he had no way out many times...it's amazing...this book totally changed my perspective on Buddhism...I highly recommend it...I love this book
the other book I bought was Hardcore Zen by Brad Warner...this book relates more to using real life experiences to relate to Buddhist teachings...and it's really funny...
I think I like these books so much because they related to certain aspects of my life...but I love these books...and if anyone's Buddhist who is looking for a book to read...I recommend these two...or if you just want a book to read...
