It's a really good thing to waste time. It's better to watch than infomercials, at least. Still, for some reason I like the gymnastics. I really don't know why.... Hey, I'm on the olympic's site, and they have table tennis as an olympic sport! Hardcore ****, ne?

Track and Field and Swimming are the best events to watch. It's always exciting for me when I see a person going to get the gold AND setting a new world/olympic record. It was VERY exciting to see Michael Thorpe to go and break the world and olympic swimming record for the 400m.

But I'm most excited to see the running events in Track and Field, mainly the sprinting (100, 200, 400, 110 hurdles) and the sprint relays (4x100, 4x200, and 4x400)

I can't wait to see Maurice Greene out there again. Allyson Felix is one to watch also, ONLY 18 and kicking ass in the womens 200m. They say she's very likely to win a medal, maybe even the Gold. I seriously cannot wait.

GO TEAM USA

The gymnastics swimming and soccer. Gymnastics being my favorite, some of the stuff they do is just wow. favorite events in the gymnastics for me are the high bar, uneven, and floor excersizes.

USA all the way.

It does doesn't it? Thats why its my Favorite part of the olympics. If only I had half their skill...

and You see Carly Patterson? I think she has the potential to lead the U.S. team 4 years from now to a gold. Amazing how young and how strong she was mentally to recover and really, was the reason the U.S was able to get Silver.

*Rolls yes* Like I said in my irks post. They do well for themsleves and still have people just looking at thier 'boobies'. Have some damned respect will you?

Iagree with the rest tho. I dont like the olympics. My mom adores them, especially the wier game bescause she loves figure skating and she watches it 24/7.

LOL anyone else see the irony in the olymipcs just giving people more of an excuse to sit on thier asses and watch TV all day?

LOL. Very true.

I have only been watching swimming and gymnastics. And those are later at night when I sit around and do nothing anyway. XD But that is basically it. Those two. When I'm bored and have nothing else to do I also watch the beach volleyball.

Not true. I usually don't sit in front of the tv because there's never anything worth watching and too many crappy reality shows. The olympics is special because many athletes train for decades and most only have if they're lucky at most 3 olympics in their entire lives before their sporting career ends.

Definitly not true. it is inspiration to me, and from what I know alot of other people as well. Seeing people devote their lives, sacraficing their bodies, for something they love to do. Besides that, I dont find anything Ironic about that.. if it was true.

Thats why I respect gymnasts so much, I know how much hard work and dedication it takes, and very little glory. I bet more thatn half the athletes tehre have had surgery due to gymnastics.

Oh, I know that not everyone feels that way about the women in the Olympics, but a lot of people do. Omega just proved that.

No doubt Its inspiring, and youve definitly got to give them credit for how hard they work.
I admit Im just a little bitter that I have a hard time just walking sometiems. Its not that I dont like to see others to succeed just makes me feel tottaly useless when I watch them.

The US team in basketball lost again. At least it wasn't by 19. A four point loss isn't as bad as a 19 point loss. I saw that the other team hit 13-27 in 3 point line though which is really incredible.

Wrong, we do NOT have the worst basketball team. The team is only doing so bad because there aren't as many of the GOOD NBA players in the olympic team. Who do we have there? Duncan, Iverson, and I think I saw Lebron James in there. Last I remember, 3 people do not make or save a team. People really should've had people like Shaq, Kobe, Jason Kidd, and some others. If they were in the team, the USA olympic team would have had very slim chances of losing. Also, people outside of the US teams do not always drive the ball to the basket. If you were watching the Lithuania vs. USA match, Lithuania rarely, if at all, went 1v1 with a US player AND1 style to make a 2 point shot. Instead, they went for outside jump shots and the US failed to notice it. If the US payed attention to that and tried to force Lith to try to drive the ball, less shots also wouldn't have been made. Lith still is a good team, so the score shouldn't have been too far off from each other anyway.

we have the worste team, but hte best players.
A bunch of ball hogging all-stars, which aren't a team. If we sent lets say... the pacers or maybe even the nuggets over there we would win... because there a team.

The US had the most medals at least. Russia actually started getting close to the US on medal counts near the end. Oh well, olympics over, football season about to begin. My personal opinion, Professional Football > Olympics.
