Ballad of the Battousai

Breathe and perfumed air is stolen
Whispers surround a rebel slain
Assassin cold with a child’s soul
You have caused the bloody rain
To fall

Blades of death heed not to time
Memory stalls, memory fades
Yet bitter hearts do linger; pain
A woman plays at love’s charade
In hatred

Alas! Her poison spilled in vain
The assassin’s heart did claim her own
Once broken with forgiveless deed
Yet made again to love alone
In Otsu

Yet members of her broken past
Still bent upon the rebel’s death
Caused her to forsake her battousai
In fear she’d cause his final breath
To fall

The one who never slept unarmed
Awoke to hear the traitor’s lie
Of how she’d gone to plot his death;
And kill the ill-famed battousai
In vengeance

Emotion tore apart his soul
The scar did burn, the blood did pour
Upon the path of powdered snow
That lead to her who ran before
In fear

Listless, felled, in troubled rage
He came to her, his Tomoe
And fought a past he had produced
By killing her dear fiancé
In Kyoto

A battle waged upon the snow
A vision flashed before his eyes
Amidst the blood and pain outpoured
A scent did mingle with demise
Of plums

A martyred pawn of ruthless ends
She had thrown herself between the blades
To protect this one who killed her love
And to use her death as shame repaid
To Kiasato

In her final moment, she took her knife
And crossed the scar that never healed
And passed away, her pain resolved
His fate that day was bound and sealed
In silence

When wars had passed, and times were new
An iris bloomed and caught the eye
Of a wanderer who bore a scar;
Atonement for a battousai
Who promised not to kill again
But to protect, and thus repay
For blood once spilled when hate drew nigh
Dooming once fair Tomoe
To silent depths of endless sleep
Forgotten

her Complex

I strain to fuse known curves now breaking
Elapsing to dust in mediums
Since made islands in a sea of being
Once calm to know what Is
As is.

But questions shaped, pearled and smoothed
To drop as weighted inklings birthing
Repercussions mounting speed
Disturb the placid stillness
Once spared the qualms of chaos

And I must now pursue an electric
Schism furious to wake in
Streams of light; aiming to search
The expanse of voids
Once left untouched in fear
Of Knowing

And hope to hold this raging beast
Stampeding forth to break
My curve with wayward hooves
Rushing to forsake known islands
Now foreign to a restless mind
So reckless to seek the terrible source
Of the sea.

(and one more.. heh)

her Right To Breathe

She asphyxiates to relate with
Ones now lost between
Their stifled memoirs aching to breathe
Breaking to seethe
With hatred for the lifeless seed
Boring depths of poisoned soil
Screaming for the recoil of severed roots
Made desperate limbs for clarity
Seeking to surface, she softly unearths this
And find their corpses lost in dreams
Picked bare by fatted vultures made
To court her demons, inward treason
Mocks Her reason
Insanity
And rage outlaid upon this plane
In counted moments spiraling forth
To nothingness, a void, a birth
Of emptiness conceived, deceived
Denied before Transgression’s need
For false impression, selling hearts
To wanton souls who rot their own
To pay the tolls, and She
Forgets to taste the air with purpose
Now for she has found it foul, laced
With bitter waste, and would soon erase
Her mind to pass beneath the earth
Embracing naught but tired ground
And echoed sound reserved, preserved
To bleed her need to breathe and join
A dreamer’s wake of corpses.
