heehee. cmon i had to make this thread. XD. alright so it took 14 years for the Pistons to make it to the final. w00t w00t! so the question that has been burning in everybody's mind since last nite - who gonna win? Lakers or Pistons?
leave it to the Wallaces and the man in the mask - richard hamilton! i asked my pops if the pistons could take on the lakers and he is like no. geez. where's the faith? he doesn't even like the lakers. <_<

so, platinumtitan, we meet again...:D
anyway, i think that the Lakers will win. whats pretty sad is that i was watching the game and after the Pistons won a reporter came up to i think the Pistons' general manager and asked him who he thought would win. of course he said lakers :p detroit has awesome defense..probably way better than LA, i mean they block a TON of shots..but they just don't have the offensive power to cut it. even though the lakers may only score betwee 75-90 each game, that is still more than enough to beat the pistons.
but thats just my opinion. :p :riiight:

i personally think this one is gonning to be decided in game 7. why?
-both teams have good coaches.
-both teams have players who know how to win
-both teams can make tough shots
-both teams have proven why they are in the finals.... they are simply the two best teams in the league
i think the lakers will probally win but im pulling for the pistons 100%.... i hate the lakers

Okay,Rich-HAM is not the man in the mask anymore, good coaches, phil jackson has won over larry brown...
Ben Wallace and Rasheed will have to double on shaq, which leaves karl open on top, with kobe, george, payton open, considering billups and hamilton cant run great with tay, sure tay is a great playoff player, but he is surely overrated,i feel the lakers will win the series 4-0,ben wallace has stepped up offensively, but his defensive and rebounding numbers will decrease on shaq, rasheed's atitude will surely depend on how they play, but the lakers are just to great?
KOBE>Hamilton
Payton>Billups
Devean<Tayshaun
Malone=Sheed

Lakers are just gonna murder the Pistons... they have about 10x the offensive power and Detroit's defense is going to suffer greatly because they'll have to double and/or foul the hell out of Shaq. Damn you Shaq! Lose 100 pounds! The only miniscule chance that Detroit has is if they really really own the fast break points. I mean OWN. Like +10-14 a game. Oh, and Shaq has to die mysteriously. Lakers in 5 :(
The real finals was Wolves vs Lakers... if only Cassell was alive :machine:

as much as i like the pistons(hamilton) though i do wish the pacers made it jermaine oneall was so good..i think that the lakers are going to come out on top. gary, kobe, shaq and not to name others. but there may be hope for pistons but from the looks of it lakers are to strong a team .

w00t for pistons defense! game 1 87-75 Pistons. i actually felt Lakers weren't giving their all this game. who do you want to be named MVP? and who do you think is a better coach - Phil Jackson or Larry Brown?

History would say that Phil Jackson is the better coach, however all that matters is now, not the past. We shall see.

i actually wouldnt be surprised if the series did end up going 7 games, i am still sticking with my lakers though. luke walton is AWESOME i have to say :p
i think that the Lakers will come out of Detroit with a 3-2 lead, but i think there is a chance that Detroit could come out with a 3-2 lead. however, i love reminding piston fans of this..in the 2001 NBA Finals, the lakers lost the first game to the 76ers yet won the next 4 in a row, under Larry Brown, the 1st game being at Staples Arena..
hehe good job Pistons splitting the two Laker home games :)

Oh man. This one is going to come down to the wire. The playoff matchups for the Lakers have been great this year. Their series with the Spurs was awesome, too. I thought at first that the Pistons had no chance. After game 1, though... I see that they are dangerous. Their defense is great. This makes it really exciting, especially since the Lakers are a really offensive-centered team. The Pistons have the great defense, some really skilled players (like Hamilton) who can make some crazy shots, and some creative play making. The Lakers have something that the Pistons don't, though- they can comeback when there seems to be no hope... like the 6 point comeback in 36 seconds last night. They have the clutch players like Fisher and Kobe. This is going to be a great series... I can feel it.

I don't feel like really getting into this convo about stats, players coaches w.e right now so I'll leave it as this:
I hope and expect the Lakers to win, why? because I have always been a die hard Lakers fan. ;)

He has got a GREAT point there. I mean Larry Brown was coach of the sixers and he won game 1 then lost next 4.... So i am sayin lakers in 6... BTW Luke Walton IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! So is 0.4 man Baby! Ya'll know who I am talkin about

shoot. lakers lost game 4. anyway, today is judgement day for the lakers. i truly believe that if the lakers win game 5 today, they have an enormous chance to win the title. the whole "no team has ever been down 3-1 and won the series" doesnt bother me. there just statistics. i mean, the lakers could..and WILL..be the first!
i think that the lakers are going to come out tonite with an intensity that the pistons will be taken aback from. even though the lakers may not end up winning by much, they will still surprise the pistons with their energy compared to the last 4 games.
kobe guaranteed a game 5 win today from the lakers. rasheed wallace has done this a couple of times and hes been right on every single one. just something to think about....and i expect kobe to be right
thank you  GO LAKERS!!!!

I love it... I doubted the pistons ability because of the conference they played in, and I was wrong to do so. Lakers have shown that they just dont have what it takes, and the Pistons are the best team in the league.. I love it.. Lakers have deserved what they got and so did there fans.. they were ****y.

Well ruff i guess your prayers came true...they won and ran the Lakers over. Lakers was pretty damn horrible during the finals...they lost my respect...of course I have never had respect for then so no loss for me. I just feel sorta sympathetic for Karl Malone...that's it. I say it's Kobe's fault. He sucked and couldn't make a damn shot even when he wasn't triple teamed...

i cant believe it..i just cant believe it. :wah:
i really think that the lakers wouldve won if they had a healthy roster. the pistons, they have NO INJURIES whatsoever. for the lakers, derek fisher had a sprained something, rick fox and shoulder and neck pains, devean george had something but i forget wat it is, karl malone had a tear in his MCL (knee), and horace grant was out the entire season. so i think the lakers wouldve won or at least definitely put up a bigger fight if they werent so injured.
*sigh* im going to go cry in a corner now.

:cheers:PISTONS WON!!!w00t! x infinity. They PWNT the whole thing.
They really deserved it this series. Derek Fisher spoke very eloquently after the game. Kobe and him are very decent ppl unlike some of the lakers that just left without congratulating anyone. sore losers. as derek put it best "you have to win gracefully and you have to lose gracefully" Billups definetly deserved MVP! PISTONS ALL THE WAY!

Excuses Excuses, pistons are the better team and would have won no matter what. and you just pointed out a weakness in the lakers to, they have no depth, the pistons howver, have an 11 man depth, so even w/ injuries, they have plenty of good players to fill spots.

No, Pistons were really lucky. Lakers had what? Five injured? And the Pistons had a homo with a plastic mask. Great, halloween has invaded one of my favorite sports.
Other than that the Lakers will bring it home next season. :)
And like my bro Shoey, I'm a die-hard Lakers fan too.

I've said it before, If a team can only rely on 3,4,or 5 people, there not that great of a team. The pistons had 11 there could have gone to. Injuries a part of the game, you can't stop them, just like you can't stop the pistons :P. Pistons are just the better team.

I thought lakers would win, but they played horrible. the only game they really put there effort was game 2; even though they lost the championship i still give them props and in my eyes there still #1!!!!; i'm gonna admit pistons played really good and there defense was great 2. there's always next year for lakers
