A young peasant wanted to marry the king's daughter. The king didn't like the idea of his daughter marrying a peasant, but he wanted to appear fair in front of his subjects. The king said that he would put two pieces of paper into a hat, one reading EXILE and the other reading MARRIAGE. Later that day, the peasant overheard the king saying that both pieces of paper would read EXILE, thus ensuring that the peasant would be out of his way for good. The peasant remained undaunted and, as arranged, arrived at the king's court where a large crowd gathered for the big event. The peasant then did something that assured him the hand of the king's daughter. What did he do?

Do you know the answer!!?

What i think the peasant did was since he already knew both said EXILE,i think while everyone was sleeping,he wrotea paper, and wrote MARRIAGE on both of the paprs, meaning for sure he will marry her no matter wat

hey, he was right.... we cant answer it...... not with the crap he gave us.....

man, maybe he just walked out.... "screw u b*tch, im not getting exiled over u!"

maybe he killed the king, and took over.... hell, if he plays his people like that, they probably wouldnt mind

maybe she ran away with him, and they were never seen or heard from again

maybe he stuck a firecracker up the king's ass, smashed the princess in the bedroom, and led a rebellion against his corrupt monarchy.....

we know one thing for sure! no one really cares about some horny peasant back in the middle ages....

You're all wrong. If you listen to the Last Couple of sentences.. You'll see that it says the peasent brought somthing that assured the hand of his wife..
If you thik about it, you might stop saying strange things like AznGuy..

P.S:: HOW COULD THERE BE NO ANSWER!?!

He pulled out both papers and dropped one. When he said he chooses the one still in his hand he reads off the one that fell. Saying that since the one that fell is exile the other must be marriage. Faced with being outsmarted by a peasent the king has to let the two marry.

Or something along those lines.

The answer has been said many times, and the answer has been said for it is obaying the rules.
The peasent goes up to the king and takes ONE peice of paper, before he opens it he says "I will not do what this paper says and receive the opposite reward" And opens the paper clearly reading exile, the peasent is granted his love, the king is publy humiliated, and he only grabbed one paper to assure he wasnt cheating

she killed her sister so they would have another funeral so the boy would come back and talk wit her and have his phone number.

EDIT: sorrry for double posting. the first on is for the first question

As far as the first riddle goes, I personally thought Chimaera's answer was much more clever. And how Zylth have been right? You said that the peasant brought something with him to ensure victory, but Zylth's answer (no offense Zylth) was just the peasant saying that he would do the opposite of what the paper said. Not much thought would need to be put in to think up that. Plus, (I might be getting a little anal here) who is a peasant to decide to change the rules right as it's being done? Doesn't anyone think the king would object to something like that?

Oh, and Kirby Ate Vash, that's why there's an edit button. And there are also quote tags that allow you to post more than one quote or post one in the middle of your post, if that's another reason you double posted.

From house to house he goes,
A messenger small and slight.
And whether it rains or snows,
He sleeps outside at night.
What am I?

I guess the other one was to easy but i think this one is too..

It's not difficult to understand, it's just a bad riddle.

Firstly, like Fire Raven said, the king would probably object to the peasant changing the rules. He's the king for christ's sake, he's the supreme law of the land. Anyone who opposes the king gets their head chopped off, that's the rule.

Secondly, that answer is stupid. Anyone with half a brain could've thought of that one (illustrated by the fact that Simpsonsfreak got it). The answer doesn't fit into the riddle at all.

And finally, the riddle is so vague. There could be any number of things that the peasant could have done. He could've killed the king, got his best buddy to wear the king's skin as a body suit, then said "the hell with it, you don't even need to draw one of those cards! Marry my daughter!". None of the clues in this riddle would say otherwise, either. (Actually, there aren't ANY clues in this riddle, which is why it's a bad riddle).
