WHO all is interested in becoming (or is) an animator?

Hey. I just wanted to know if any of you have the same interest in becoming something that deals with animation. I've decided i want to become an animator and possibly move to Japan. I think it sounds really exciting.... and i could travel the world with that career. Art is always important and needed in various cultures. :)

heres the deal in acse you didn't know. Animators for anime/ cartoons in japan is an extremly low paying job for an extremly pricey country. Its hardly enough to get by. Plus there arent many chances to move up in rank or gain fame. Your best bet would be clamp...

Um.. I think animation interest me a little, but I'm sure it's not something I would chase as a goal. I wouldn't want to be a cartoon animator, yet one whom creates teh secksy graphics for those secksy movies, such as teh Matrix. ^-^ Fun!

I went and listened to a guest speaker lady at my school about three days ago, who is from an Art Institute, where they do a lot with that stuff.

Becoming an animator has been one of my interests. I am not completely sure what I am going to do yet but the whole reason I chose the college I am going to is because it has a good Digital Media/Graphic Arts program. It includes animation, digital painting...all the types of art that often involve computers. It would be so much fun if I became an animator. I'll have to wait and see where I end up.

Yeah, I have thought about doing something with animation, I really like to write stories but I don't like to draw a whole bunch though but I would like get it like published in mangas or something... It'd be really fun to work for an anime magazine... interviews, free stuff, inside info... all that would be great :)

i would like to become an animator.. i practice drawing anime now.. which stinks but im getting better.. i dont know if i would want it as my only job though.. because it pays low

animating sucks -.- i have done it for 3 projects at school already, like disney animating kinda thing, it is soooo much work. You get tired of it hella quick. I think 3D animating is a lot more amusing.

Lol.... lemme be more specific... i meant animation in all aspects... 3d and 2d. Mostly 3d stuff though. I mean, i didnt wake up one day and say... i think i'll draw. I started when i was 3 or 4 when i picked up a pencil.... and i drew on napkins little mouse villages and stuff.... I mean, i'm not in art for the money.... I want to be happy with what i do. :) I would rather be happy than rich.
