James is the number one canidate for the rookie of the year award and might even play for team usa, but what about the other guys?

well, who i want to win the rookie of the year award is carmello anthony, the third round pick
sure he doesnt average 20 points,5 rebs and 5 asists, but he sure does average 20 points,6 rebs and 2 asissts and may be able to carry the nuggets to the playoffs, which was a team that had no intentions of winning, hes not afraid to shoot the ball and ismore agressive, plus his TO #'s are alot better than James, james is a paul pierce like of player, mello is a more dominant player, thats what jordan saw and thats why hes on team jordan

someone else that has caught my eye was kirk hinrich, another strong 3point shooter that shoots the 3point ball at .381, and averaging 11points with 6 assists, led kansas to the final four and can have a turn around with pippen and crawford to the playoffs sometime soon, hinrich is a stoyakovic type of player, but has the need to pass the more ball which makes him a 3 point threat that is also very unselfish.

chris bosh, the phenom that came in the 4th round, the player that averages 11 points and 7 rebs. a player that is agressive on the boards, block the shot and even shoot the 3 ball, what more is better than the former georgia tech all atround player that is a specialist at defense, came off the injury but is strong for the rookie of the year?

dwayne wade has carried his team to the final four, started off great than fell into the injury hole, would he of been a guaranteed rookie of the year of he had not ben on the injury list? well he avgs. 16pts 4 rbs and 4 assists a game, if he were to consist these numbers if he were not injured, and if it werent for the injuries throughout the season..>

tj ford woulda been a good candidate which plays for milwaukee that is already playing so well rite now and is fighing for home court adv in the first round without him. a team player that is a strong pg that passes the ball all round the court

I can't say I like James too much. Mostly because he gets all of the media attention when Anthony is just as good. I guess the Media doesn't like the Nuggets. Or maybe he's not marketable. Still, it seems to be the Lebron is going to get the Rookie of the Year simply because his stardom overshadows all the other new talent. Not saying he's not a great player but it doesn't seem like anyone else has much of a chance.

how is lebron james gonna get rookie of the year when i'd be able to whoop his ass? i mean christ... i could probably take him in a wheelchair. anthony is better. he's like lebron's daddy.

all talk and no game boy...
lets go back to high school wins...

melos 4 years in high school-3 championships
lebron in high school-1 championship

the year lebron managed to win was when melo led my syracuse orangemen to the ncaa championship...

yet lebron gave up college for a 1st pick in the draft...

Beggining of the year i claled Wade the ROY but injures killed him... so did Ford who played great for the bucks...

but whos teams doing better?
hands down i want a winner not a loser...
Melo any day of the week...

Lebron should take the crown, as NBA said, lebron lead them from out of last place, and maybe into the play-offs. Lead scoring rookie with 20.7 PPG, around 5.6 APG, and like 1.6-8 RPG I believe. Lead the Cavs to a win over the number one team in the east. Carmelo is up there with him though( but does have a years more expierence in higher paced ball when he played for Syracuse. It will be a close race, Lebron should get it IMO, but it will most likely come down to whos team does better.

i would like to see Dwayn Wade win the rookie of the year award.. he had such a great season and to go from college and doing well in the NCAA touny and then coming out of the draft to Miami of all teams and starts and pretty much takes that team on his back and carries them to most of their wins because of him. Clevland didn't need James and it was just an other star to share the ball with but i know James will win it.. ohhhhhhh well

Lebron is aight (not one of my favs and that sprite commercial sux), but i don't think he should get rookie of the year. Carmello deserves it more.

well.... who had the last laugh..... people should listen to me more...

anywho now that i have watched melo play a little more i have alot of respect for him. i now think melo is just as good as lebron, but what killed melo was the fight he had with his coach

melo improved them what 7 or 8 games more than last season? BUT lebron has NO "training". melo got to play with men about 3 years more skilled and better than him for a year. he learned more plays and everything. when lebron first started, he was just a plain rookie, and said to silas that he had to go slow, because he only knew 3 plays. he acually had to learn plays along with develop his skills. AND this may be least difference, but melo is in the west, where most(not all)of the good players are. and melo had A LOT of help. come on, andre miller, marcus camby, nene, and u cant count out boykins, the 2nd shortest player in NBA history. LeBron had darius miles for not even half the season.

In the end, LeBron was under much more presure, from the high-school jumping to NBA story, and his team "weighed" more on his shoulder's than melo's team

lol, i voted kirk though cause he was on the worse team of all :D :riiight:

You all think about this stuff way too much and go off on too many tangents....James won the award because he alone took the team from worst to contender. Carmelo wasn't everything Denver had going for it. But the Cavs with Lebron were suddenly a halfway decent team.
