What's everyone's opinion of emulation? Are you put off by the obvious illegality, or simply intrigued by the freedom? Do you have some sort of code of ethics as far as ROMs go? Personally I think gameboy roms just -feel creepy-, and anything past SNES just isn't quite right to emulate (though I'll occasionally give in with N64...) but on the whole and given prices and rarity it's a deeply beautiful thing. So whatcha think?

dude emulation is tight i do not really give a crap about some mega corporation. emulation is cool because i love my PC and dont have systems. ahahhaa :) yeah i never really get emulators past snes though mainly because most are crappy, dont work, or are too hard to get roms for.

gergh. yeah. almost every n64 rom i have ever tried to download turns into some sort of mega popup from hell, and those that i can get just freeze ...
thus my computers failure becomes my morals, and i look like a better person XD
Emulation is okay. The companies aren't making any more money off of the games, so it isn't really stealing.
I wish I could find some N64 ROMs, I would SO get them.

Emulation for snes, nes, n64, dc and the genesis are alright. Anything above that like the ps, ps2, gc and the xbox no. It's rare to find games and the console for those systems.

it alright.... the noise is just annoying :eek2:
I dont mind emulating anything. Personally i abuse the GBA roms. >.>
I just hate emulating anything above n64 because it becomes way too many buttons to handle :p Thats why i pretty much stick to snes and genisis and gba games.
Mostly cause it has recongnizable games that i havent played.

Emulation isn't bad at all in my opinion. If the companies stopped making those hard to find games, i don't see why they should keep them to themselves. Therefore, emulation is the answer. I have my fair share of ROMS and emulators, and i enjoy them to the fullest.

Go download on Kazaa and click Software(or a site but Kazaa is easier to find). You'll even find results that have bundles of other ROMS in it so I guess it's a win-win situation.
I'm not a big fan of emulators, but I do admit I own some. It's just not as fun clacking away buttons on the keyboard than holding the console's controller.

emulation was the best thing that came to me after my dad threw out my nintendo because he thought that it was useless. but hey! now i can play with the games that he tossed out, games that have been lost to my memories, and new games too!
