:2gun: Ok this is pretty much self explanatory, is gaming a sport. I know it doesn't fit the definition, but i think it is.
It is competitive and it uses mental tactics and such, but it's just not physical. I still think it is a sport, whether people like it or not

yeah i guess it kind of is. some people even debate that chess is a sport. so why wouldnt gaming be? you are forced to think strategically and its definately competitive like you said

I know it doesn't fit the definition

sport ( P ) Pronunciation Key (spôrt, sprt)
n.

Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.

So yeah, it does fit the definition. You use your body (well, your hands [or feet if you're playing DDR]), it has a set of rules, and it's competitive. Therefore, it is a sport.

I like gaming as much as the next guy but i dont really consider gaming a sport. im gonna say that its ot a sport cause, come on no matter how fast you press those buttons or hit tose arrows it wont be the same as getting physical activity like playin soccer or football.

i guess it could be a sport other than the fact that u dont get very much exersices (not inculeding DDR) games are very much like sports they require tactics and thinking to win a compition

Define sport, if you mean mental sport than yes. If you only mean physical than no. But yes it is a sport if they consider chess, which they do, a sport.

If chess is a sport I guess SOME mental games can be a sport as well. But in my opinion DDR could be a sport and thats probably it.

If hitting the keys and moving the mouse makes you sweat that bad, then yeah I guess it's a sport.
