What games do you think have the best soundtracks? IMHO i think castlevania lament of innocences was incredible. i just bought the music box so i can listen to all the music at the main menu :) parasite eve had a good one too. ooooh and soul reaver 2, i liked that one alot :)

obviously someone would say FF eventually... except ffx-2 was horrible cause it wasn't by nobuo uematsu (except a few songs which are fantastic)
i thought that mgs2's theme song was cool :)
i think that zelda: oot also has good music.

[SIZE=5]I really really enjoy the Tenchu: stealth assassin soundtracks.....Soul Calibur soundtracks....and the soul reaver music as well. the best game song of all time is the Orchestrated version of Sephiroths theme from Final fantasey 7. Now just bob your head up and down...yea thats it.(SIZE=5)

I really liked Castlevania: Symphony of the Night's soundtrack, but i think the best one is from Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. I absolutely love that soundtrack

Most of the FFs and Castlevanias. But due to my personal preference in music I think I'm gonna go with Nightmare Creatures 2, with its Rob Zombie ST.

My favorite soundtrack of all time has got to be :drum roll: LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME! The music in that game was awsome...its what made the game so great. Also, I liked the one for Majora's Mask. I got so obsessed with "The Song Of Healing" from MM that I actually printed some sheet music and played it..haha. I love the music from the FF series, especially FF7 and FFX. Kingdom Hearts is great too.

LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME!

OMG!!! Same same!! I went and bought that soundtrack. I loved tha game to death. It's my favorite to this day. Oh and about the Song of Healing. I learned how to play it on the piano, when I heard it for one of the first times. I thought it was such a good song! I really liked when it was played, when you turned that girls dad back to normal.

Kingdom Hearts, and Chrono Cross had really cool music too!

yea the anti souls mystery lab had cool music too, and dark palace of waterfalls. but if you go into the music box my two favorites are Melancholy Joachim and Lament of Innocence. :)

SSX3 had a pretty awesome soundstrack. Plus they added a DJ for the transition from song to song. He would add his two bits about the riders and their standings. Plus the music that was on the soundtrack fit the game really wel. Not just random popular songs.

FFVIII, FFT, FFV, CT, and FFVII are my favorite video game soundtracks. Xenogears, Soul Calibur II, and the Megaman X series has great video game music also. I especially love the Megaman X series music.

Chrono Trigger, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, some of the Final Fantasy games, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Tony Hawk's Underground. Vice City's was good too, but only because it was so entertaining to run people down while listening to 'Love is a Battlefield' or 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'.

the best soundtrack ever is Mr.Driller Drill Land for Gamecube. The second best soundtrack ever is the Original Mario bros and Suikoden 2 also Final Fantasy VI has an AWESOME soundtrack, best final fantasy soundtrack out there.

Halo and Halo 2. The music came in at just the perfect moments, like the final driving section at the end of Halo damn that was cool.

(And if you think Halo 2 is short, play it on Legendary. I spent a hour and a half doing the same section on the first level.... )

The Donkey kong games for snes especially the second one were truly kick ass.

Lots of the snes games had awesome soundtracks, there were very few that aren't good actually.
You all left your snes on and turned the volume up just to listen to the songs while the game was on pause...

Kirby games were choice though there isnt many songs in all the series until recently. Kirby 64 had majorly rad tunes though.

I haven't heard metroids prime echoes yet but the metroid prime game had an very good music, aside from the fact it was like the exact same tunes whenever you got near space pirates which was almost always toward the end of the game. At least the songs fit.

And sonic 3. I still get those songs stuck in my head and I never even owned the game :p

Um id say FF8 which i personally find more entertaining then 7 and Halo 2's new soundtrack is pretty awesome as well as the first prince of persia. POP mixed these cool guitar riffs with some really interesting and beautiful middle eastern vocals for something ive never heard before.But they killed the new POP (warrior within) by making it all "hardcore" now the music is just screaming heavy metal, it lost all it's uniqueness,plus they killed the princes cool accent. But nonetheless the single catchiest song or rather theme song of all time....The legend of zelda...i still hum that all the time.

Hmmm, definitly NFSU. I don't know if you could call the music for halo a "soundtrack", but the music for Halo and Halo2 is great. I love how they took the orchestral music in Halo, and had it done with a guitar for Halo2, I thought that was mighty rad.
