Don't rely on netendo if you ask me. As for myself i'm a sony lover. there a pretty relyable company. Also they handle alot of new stuff so there's always a choice, not to mention very valuable stocks. $$

i loved the super nintendo stuff. N64 isnt that good, in my opinion...
oh, and the title of this thread reminds me of this guy in my class who says "grandma, how could u betray MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
i loved the super nintendo stuff. N64 isnt that good, in my opinion...
first one ive ever seen with an opinion similiar to mine. Nintendo 64 was a flood system, one really made to just make a 2 dollar game and get a buck off of. Especially when sony was just starting out they really packed on the games.
And of course once again, im going to say what needs to be said. Nintendo uses mascots and well known icons. They make sequals but using play machanics from the first game
makes them "shorter" people complain like whiny brats and then they hate the game. I'm sure its still going to apply to other systems. More so the 2-D to 3-D transition on snes from n64 made people seem really impressed and any sequal wouldnt matter since they never played the game in 3-D... On the other hand from N64 to Gamecube its still 3-D not making anything harder. Really i want to see Halo 2 be as good as it predecesor for more than 6 games. I cant even talk about sony because their first mascot was so crappy that it (crash badicoot namely) had to be sold to part of nintendo for GBA. Jak and dexter i think are only inches away from a similar fate and the final fantasy series is basically supported like mario is so i complain in that one aspect.
My take on why everyone argues that nintendo sucks once again condensed even more...

I think that Nintendo started going terribly downhill since gamecube came out. Ok, I have GC, but I only got it for Super Smash Bros. Melee and my beloved Zelda games. I got PS2 a few weeks ago and now I can see how much better it is.Besides, I was like 11 when I got GC. I agree with Spaz on this one; gamecube for kids, PS2 for teens, and Xbox for adults or teens. Yep..

well, even though i have to agree that Nintendo isnt doing as well as it has done with past systems, the gamecube isnt that bad a system. it has good games, just not as many as the ps2 or x-box. plus, its losing some of its good developers, like Rare. man, a lot of the good games on n64 were from Rare... what the hell was Nintendo thinking when they sold Rare to Microsoft?!
anyway, one of Nintendo's main strengths is the fact that they have mascots that associate to them. They make new games for those franchises, like Zelda, Mario, Samus, Kirby, Fox, and so on, and that keeps those that played the older games coming back for more. they want to feel that old feeling of finally beating Bowser, or getting another piece of heart, just one more time. and every once in a while, they make a new character or bring in a new kind of game, like Viewtiful Joe or Soul Caliber 2, respectively. hehe...
geez, this post is turning out longer than i planned. oh well...
i just hope that one of these days, Nintendo will release a whole bunch of good games at once and save themselves from a demise not unlike the Dreamcast....

Double Dash bad? Yea right. You obviously aren't playing correctly. What you need to do is get a bunch of friends together and try playing that way. Then we'll see if it sucks or not.

Dont down the system because of a few bad games that bombed. I mean, they have Need For Speed: Underground, the remake MGS game and Double Dash. Besides, they might make a comeback

I'd actually say PS2 is more for adults than XBox, due to the fact that it has nearly all the good games XBox has, plus an assload of exclusive titles with M ratings, meaning more aimed at later teen/early adult groups. XBox doesn't really have a lot going for it other than its graphics, which still aren't as good as a PC. PS2 has THE game lineup and GCN has the children with parents with big wallets factor going for it. These are probably the reasons why PS2 still rules the market despite being older and using "more outdated" technology, as some would say, than XBox or GCN. PS2 had already been around for over a year when XBox and GCN came out and it still outsold 'em that year, in games sold and systems sold. Sony dominates ALL and Nintendo just gets to pick up the pieces post-domination.

I will give credit where credit is due, Nintendo HAD highly intelligent developers in the days of NES and SNES, but now the only reason they might seem to have intelligent developers is because of the fact that they have the only viable handheld on the market right now (PSP is going to change that, I'm willing to bet almost anything). I don't know about you, but most of Nintendo's old gamers who know what Nintendo is about are grown up now, both physically and mentally, meaning most of them aren't gonna want the same old kiddie crap that they liked when they were little, with the exception of some franchise titles like Mario. I personally liked Castlevania over Mario when I was a kid, but that's me. Anyways, how is PS2 developed by average people? They've obviously got something figured out right to have cornered the market like they have. How are PS2's fans dumb for buying the games? Because they would rather have a PS2 than a GCN which has inferior capabilities (face it, you have to pay to get a DVD player add on for the damn thing) and a poor game lineup? Last time I checked PS2 had the lion's share of the good exclusives and who cares about Link on SC2 for GCN? It's not like Zelda (or anything Zelda related) has been anything special in the past 10 years. This is how PS2 rules: it has exclusivity rights to a LOT of good games in many different genres. For action/adventure/platformer it has games like the DMC series, the Castlevania series, Jak II (haven't played it, but it looks infinitely better than the original), Contra, Zone of the Enders: the 2nd Runner, and Shinobi. For RPGs: Final Fantasy series, I think that says it all right there, although GCN is getting FFCC, but CC is supposed to be more like an action/adventure than a RPG. Fighters PS2 has Tekken and I'm not sure if other systems have rights for MvC2 now or not cuz I just don't give a damn about GCN or XBox now. We get new Metal Gear games before other systems (GCN is just NOW getting the PSOne run of MGS and XBox didn't get Substance 'til long after we had MGS2). We have survival horror cornered now that Resident Evil is coming back to Sony. And to finish it, nah nah nah nah nah nah, we got Tenchu. Plus all of the insane games on PSOne. XBox and GCN are lucky to have the sales they do.

I really shouldn't dignify your ridiculously one-sided post with a response but I just can't resist. The GCN has inferior capabilites? Because it doesn't have some crappy-@$$ DVD feature stuck on that doesn't even come with a remote? Last time I checked, game consoles were about gaming and the Gamecube is a much more efficient than the technologically inferior PS2.
And Zelda hasn't been anything special for the last 10 years? Someone hasn't played Wind Waker, or if they have, they have very bad taste. (I'm talking about you, idiot). Don't get me wrong, you're right, the PS2 has a varied selection and many good games but it doesn't have the great exclusives on Gamecube- Zelda, Viewtiful Joe, F-Zero, etc. and besides that Gamecube also shares many of the many multi-platform games. (If you ask me, the PSone has much better games, why buy a PS2?)
X-box is a technological competitor of the game-cube but is severely lacking in gameplay area. Likely, the reason many teens and adults who are just getting into gaming prefer PS2 and X-box is because they think it's more "mature" to play "adult" videogames than "kiddy" videogames. The bottom lime is you're sitting in front of your TV set twitching your thumbs- this facade of coolness is meaningless but apparently an epidemic.
And as far as Sony goes, I'm thinking of going out a Playstation. One. with the LCD screen and getting a bunch of RPGs, yeah.
Hahah, I hope you're not upset, I enjoy little arguments like this, it's nothing TOO personal.
