How the HELL do you beat Sephiroth!?!

i beat em without the ultima weapon, i think i had two gaia bangels..i did have max hp...ad some other stuff but yeah,you can do it without the ultima weapon or not...and make sure you hve a hell load of items

What's the recommended level for fighting him? I heard some guy beat him at 53, which I think is BULLSH*T cuz I'm around that level and I die in one hit. Then again, I chose to do away with defense in the beginning of the game, and I only have 1 Gaia bangle......

Even at lvl. 100, it still takes a lot of skill and as Ronso said some luck.

hmm... Ultima a must...
lvl 100 makes it easier to beat but i think i beat him at lvl 70something with lion heart...
u dont necessarily need aeroga... just lots of HP... Curaga is also a must.
u'll need a few elixers just in case of sin harvest

u'll need a few elixers just in case of sin harvestOh please, I beat Sephiroth without Aeroga, i used first keyblade, and i leveled my characters to lvl 100 by beating him, i was at like lvl 67 or something when I beat him, only because my friend was there and couldnt beat him so I took precautions, he is really easy. I beat him first try.

i beat him with the metal chocobo...i think i was around level 80 although at level 100 knowing all of his skills and attacks it is pretty easy. u do want like 5 elixers or megalixers because he has this one spell that takes all of your magic and leaves you with one hp left.

I'm willing to bet a lot of money that on your very first try, he killed you in one swipe. Unless you had a strategy guide/got online tips and prepared for him :uhh:

Sephiroth can be a pain or your biggest and easiest source of expierence...

please dont follow this if you cannot take 2-3 hits WIHTOUT aero/aga/ga/whatever
next, it doesnt matter if u have ultima weapon or not, it just helps
next step, i would NOT advise to use Gai Bangles.. i just put 4 on Goofy... i put 3 Crystal Crowns on Sora because well.. its Sora... and 2 Atlas Armlets on Donald.. (thats pretty much my equip.. now add all the best weapons and level 100)
A SIDE NOTE! do NOT equip strike raid.. IMO the only good special attack is Ars Arcanum, when he cast Sin Harvest Angel or whatever.. make SURE u lock onto him and super glide over and whack him. If worse comes to worse and you cannot use this strategy properly then just use an elixer right when you see the halo on you
PRECAUTION: do not use any form of Aero unless you are positive you can survive off of MP Rage, make sure you have second chance, all crit strikes and all mp rages equipped


NOW, lets get started

Phase 1
ahh, the 2nd easiest IMO of them all, play it safe the majority of the time, if he does a horizontal slash hop over it and hit him, if you have all combo attachments, right before the last hit (air combo) he will teleport, roll behind him and let lose 2 hits then guard. He will also do a quick forward slash then bounce back, the key here is to jump, follow and attack.

while he taunts you you can start hitting him and even get a full combo in maybe.

Phase 2
this is the most annoying part of the battle. Sephiroth will keep doing running attacks and teleporting. If you guard while he runs at you he will teleport and slash, so wait for the run attack, roll and attack. But the main way to get damage on Sephiroth is to hit him while he calls Sin harvest angel (whatever, see above for counter). Thats basically his moveset which is pretty intense and i hope this part helped. Also, before this phase ends he will do an omni slash type attack but u can run and keep healing.

he will start to glow and will only taunt you for a little while which is when u hit (when the balls surround you jump above, glide to him and hit.) After the taunt he will call meteors so just super glide around until they circle, then just run around and make sure u dont get hit by the big one if ur defense sux.

Phase 3
this phase can be the easiest or hardest part of the battle. he will do a running spin attack at you while energy balls surround you, this can be extremely hectic. But right when he starts to spin at you release ars aranum and chain the 2nd combo. Repeat this and you should be fine. If not, when he does a regular attack try to do an air combo. There are lots of energy balls and everything so it can be hectic but not unbeatable.

enjoy Sephiroths leave and then cry because u can't see the cool into scene again, then cheer because you have beaten the hardest boss of kingdom hearts... not final mix

I just noticed that you required me to use the best equipment AND be level 100 to be able to defeat Sephiroth, which I think is highly unecessary (I WANT Sephiroth to bring me to lvl 100). I took down Sephiroth all the way to the orange bar using my Strike Raid strategy at level 57, 1 MP Rage, and about 2 Critical Strikes. I found Ars Arcanum to be useless (although I didn't try it when he was using Sin Harvest) because it was either interrupted or Sephiroth did his teleport slash. Strike Raid, however, cannot be interrupted and can keep you at a safe distance. The only problem is when he's running at me, and Ars Arcanum won't be as useful since he usually teleport slashes.

I have a question: who's the hardest boss in Final Mix? (that's the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts, right?)

The easiest way to beat SEPH is use SONIC BLADE
for christ sake just use the damn ability

YOUR INVULNERABLE WHEN YOU DO IT!!!!

besides that just make sure you have 2nd chance(its possible to win w/o it but if he pulls off his sin fall move on you its instant death so u need 2nd chance)

besides using sonic blade u'll have to occasionally glide at him and hit him when the halo appears over his head (sin fall)

and make sure u take elixers and ethers....usually u'll have plenty of mp since everytime he hits you and if u have *MP RAGE* you will get about 3 bars every hit you take. :dunce:

Level 100? I never even GOT to level 90!
I smashed Seph's face in at level 61 and am damn proud of it. My inventory was stacked with Elixirs and I believe I was using Oblivion. He had teh potential to kill me in two hits if I got sloppy but once you know his moves he's not too hard to beat.
You have two best friends during this fight:
1) Dodge Roll. If you're not using it you're probably already dead.
2) Strike Raid. You may or may not be invincible while using it, don't quite remember(thinking not) But it's a great move to use because you can 1) Use it from a distance 2) Does great damage to him. 3) Fills your combo bar quickly.

Aero, imo, was a waste of time and magic to cast you could be doing something more useful like practicing Dodge Roll and Parry so you DON'T take hits. The only time he should ever hit you is when he summons the meteors. Even those can be avoided if you watch your footing.

Seriously, I had a harder time beating Kurt Zisa than I did Seph.

Te best tactic is to run at him and keep slicing and dicing him and doing w/e and hoping u dont die in the process....its a lot of work but it works...haha

i was only level 86 when i beat him.. hes not that hard.. i had a crystal crown and 2 omega arts. its mostly about wat skills u have equipped.. i think the most important skills are ars arcanum, counterattack, and mp rage... its best to have the ultima weapon.. and becuz of mp rage u shouldnt use aeroga cuz that juss lowers how much mp u get. i juss use lotsa curagas

holy crap zell stop spaming in all the kh threads.... but a good stratagy that you can use at any level is preety much just make a stratagy up^_^ think of sephiroths sword as about as big as him, so when you get that close to him just jump and swing. god i am soo sick of kingdom hearts. i did exactly EVERYTHING in that game....not joking.....uh man i playd that game to much...

And for sepiroth it said on cheat on g4, that u should fly at him when u attack caus eif u run up to him he'll whack u and u'll die.

well... strategy.... ah-hem... i forgot all strategy, i had one back on like lv 60 when i beat him the first time, but now that i used the massive amount of xp to get to lv 100 and can take like 6 hits without areoga(a useless spell IMO) all i do now is charge him and cast a cureaga whenever my hp gets to soras spike ^_^, it works quite well

PS i never get hit with sin harvest angel, he always goes behind u so all u have to do is target roll/fly and take him out

its been a while but all you do is when hes ready to cast the spell that drains you, you combo him in the head and faze him over and over again,

doe sit matter what version ur playing on, caus emines is the greatest hits edition. but kurt ziza is pretty easy...... all u do is attack the two orbs when he is physically attackin, then when he gets knocked out slash andf hack him, then when he goes into the protective hovering ball thing, only magic will harm him, so just use magic, then he'll get knocked out and hack and slash him some more, then repeat, alothough his attack do get harder to evade when u weaken him more. and phantom is sooo figgin hard.

Kurt Zisa is a lot hard than Sephiroth(to me anyway).
I wouldn't recommend taking him on until you're at least level 65.

On a side note...You don't need "Uber" items to beat any of the secret bosses. The best thing I was using was the Oblivion. Why? Too lazy to make Omega Arts and the Ultima. The Ultima isn't too great anyway. The knockback effect it has will only get you killed against Sephiroth(Tried to beat him on a friend's game.)

Defeating Sephiroth

After sealing the Keyhole at Hollow Bastion, a mysterious battle appears in Phil's list of options. This battle is called the Platinum Match, and you must go one on one with the toughest Boss in the game to win.
Sephiroth is very difficult. You need to complete the Hercules Cup or lock the Hollow Bastion Keyhole. He is very fast and does a lot of damage. When you hit him, it appears that you are doing no damage, but you are. You need to hit him about twenty times to get his life bar to start moving, then he will do a finishing move where he disappears. He will appear behind and probably kill you. Being at a very high level (about 85) and having the Ultima Weapon is recommended.

When you start talking life, he will do Heartless Angel, which lowers your health to 1 and MP to 0. After his life goes down a bar or two, he will run at you and do a deadly combo. Try to stay away -- gliding will not help. When he has one bar remaining, he will glow blue and make blue orbs appear around you. He will then make a group of large blue rocks appear. They will move around the battle field in a circle, then cast Meteor. If you are lucky and remain alive after this, continue attacking him. He will do it again. When he is almost dead, he will run around and not stop, becoming very difficult to hit. Hit him a few times to winthe battle. You will get about 60,000 experience points.
