Yo even though SC has been out for about 7 or 8 years i think,
its still relle hot to play online, how is that possible i mean damn I love the game how come its still so popular?

well, sorry to say that Warcraft III is voted one of the best RTS RPG games for PC... And the expansion is the #1 expansion pack of the Nation.. so there not wasting time there making big bucks...
Plus, Blizzard said they wernt even sure if there gonna make a sc2 so tough luck..

lol, i know, but personlay i thought wcIII sucked... the story was realy blunt, and the graphics, though were "better" than starcraft..... looked like crap...

some of the units were sweet, but when compared to some of the buildings, it looked like a real life charecter inside a cartoon.

I play SC all the time. My account is Rebellion. But anyway, one of the reasons its still played (along with all Blizz games) is Battle.net is a great, easy-to-use onlin gaming. Plus UMS and Custom maps are always new and fun.

Kirby Ate Vash must've been thinking of Starcraft Ghost or something, but anyways, SC is good but I like BW better. The custom games are limited unlike WC3 but if they created a SC2 they should make a hero system similar to the one used in Warcraft.

HELL NO they shouldn't. They should stick to Starcraft's old gameplay (which is STILL the standard for RTS gaming) and add a little more to it without going too far. Keep in mind that it was SC's original gameplay that made it legendary.

And when we're talking about SC, we obviously mean Brood War, since that's what most people play now.

Star Craft online is incredibly popular due to the fact that when playing online you can not only do the regular game, but you can also play custom maps that yourself or other people make up, and enough new maps keep coming out that it tends to keep the game intresting

Starcraft is still popular because it took the gameplay that WC2 revolutionized and brought it to a whole new level. Although sad to say, another reason why it's still popular is because of money map newbs bringing interest to their friends with fast maps, zero clutter, etc., so even though SC still holds popularity, the overall level of skilled players has dropped significantly.

Starcraft got popular because its the first game with campaign editor that had triggers, and the idea was origional. God, Starcraft will always have a special place in my heart :)

the reason sc is so popular is because of a few reasons
1. the fact that b.net is insanely awesome
2. the fact that you can create your own maps so infinite replayability
3. the graphics are just right, not too flashy to create immense lag and to make it less focused on strategy and good enough to be like "is that a marine or a barracks??"
4. its made by blizzard
5. every1 would rather play sc than wc3

there are currently 121,000 users playing 33,000 games of SC, and 275,000 users playin 94,000 games of SC BW....i took that off the server at 10pm...if it waz like 4pm those #s would double, even triple,
that makes bout 400,000 players and 120,000 games at 10pm

that makes rougly 150,000 of WC players online at the same time...

There will be NO (yes thats no as in not yes as in negative) SC2. Or, if there is, it wont be SC. Cuz a great majority of the SC team quit, when vivendi whent all merge. Thereforse if SC2 comes out, it will be WC hiding in a SC box.
