i say Sabin from ff6 (3). his blitzes could kick ne one's a.ss!! if this is a battle royal, then he has moves for multiple enemies, like Fire Dance or Air Blade, then when it gets down to like 3, he can use Bum Rush or other moves and destroy all who oppose him!!!

Well, if you want to get technical, Locke and Shadow are from Final Fantasy 6, which is different from Final Fantasy 3.

Tidus would break a nail just before the fight, and he'd cry so much he would be disqualified for being so damn gay.

Wakka is a freak.

Cloud would realize that Tidus is trying to win the "girliest man-girl" competition and disqualify himself too, so he can focus on beating Tidus at being a little bitch.

Sephiroth would act cool, then get his Masamune shoved into his asshole. He wouldn't mind either; Sephiroth likes it naughty like that.

Tifa would knock herself out with her huge milk cans.

Locke would only have a chance to win the fight if he were leveled up properly, and equipped right. Genji Glove + Offering + Ragnarok + Atma Weapon = 8 attacks that do 9999. Sorry guys, but you got owned.

Shadow wouldn't stand a chance, unfortunately. He's cool and all, but he just isn't strong enough.

Squall is almost as pathetic as Tidus and Cloud, but he wouldn't disqualify himself because he knows he stands no chance of being as much of a whiny little bitch as them. Squall would try, but like Shadow, he isn't strong enough to compete.

Zidane would last no longer than Squall would.

If Locke weren't decked out like I explained above, then the fight would go to Kefka.

i know that, but those are the pieces of jenova from the other versions you fought put together (hence the name Jenova synthesis)
jenova's cells are inside seph, if you remember

and you can even see jenova in bizarro sephiroth!
when you fight him it has a big head, arms, core, and this lil body on top
if you watch closely, the body will move its arms like strings and then the rest of it begins its attack
this proves that seph is jenovas puppet till the end (expt for the VERY last battle)
there you have it...

ps: you forgot kefka in your poll, he deserves recognition since he could kick almost all their asses

Sephiroth can kill Cloud without Jenova. If the game were real life, Sephiroth would get stronger as Cloud got stronger. Sephiroth could kill all of them. Even Cloud said so, "Sephiroth's strength is unreal." and when Cloud was a boy, "I will join SOLDIER and be just like Sephiroth"

Also, obviously all of you who picked other people besides Sephiroth ad Cloud have never played FF7 lol. Especially those who picked TIDUS.

Auron would come in and own everyone. He'd just sit on the sidelines and wait for the fight to be over. Cloud would deliver the final blow to Squall in the end, and stagger to his feet the barely alive victor. No, Final Fantasy 6 is the same as Final Fantasy 3 for the Super Nintendo. However, the REAL Final Fantasy 3 is for NES.

The reason the one in the bottom picture is called Final Fantasy 3 is because Final Fantasy 3 (the one in the top picture), 4, and 5 were never released in the US. Final Fantasy 6 was renamed "Final Fantasy 3" because it was the third Final Fantasy game that had been released to the US, but in Japan it was still "Final Fantasy 6".

Thankfully Square released Final Fantasy Anthology which used Final Fantasy 6's real name.

Squall has not only Lionheart, he has Rezonuken to go along with it. Squall maxed can do 9999 per hit. Rezonuken has 4-8 slashes, thats 79992. Lionheart has 8-12 more slashes, thats 79992-119988. A total of 159984-199980.

Ok, if you actually read Kaze's post. Sephiroth is only powerful when Jenova is around or when he is Safer Sephiroth. Safer Sephiroth(to me) is considered super mode(now that wouldn't be a fair fight). Cloud against Sephiroth(non-safer, and no Jenova), Cloud would win, no doubt.
Cloud should be just as strong as Sephiroth(without Jenova), cause Cloud is a clone of Sephiroth.

The fight between Cloud and normal Sephiroth was just a battle to expel Sephiroth's control over cloud. Notice how, on the way out of the cavern, Cloud didn't go anywhere to go fight Sephiroth, he said "I can still hear him calling me" when Sephiroth wasn't talking, thus meaning that Sephiroth was still controlling his mind, and Cloud did not go anywhere to fight Sephiroth, it showed him plunging into his own subconscious to remove Sephiroth from it. Now let me emphasize this for you: IN YOUR OWN MIND YOU CAN DO ANYTHING, BEAT ANYONE. Outside Cloud's mind Sephiroth is the most powerful being in existence in the world of FFVII, and was truly only able to be defeated because you can NOT have a game that is unbeatable, and thus it has to be that Sephiroth can be defeated, although it requires a. a lot of time pounding on him with all your team members, b. a lot of time dedicated to breeding a gold chocobo to get Knights of the Round, or c. a lot of time spent in the battle arena getting Omnislash, so no matter which way you do it, it isn't easy. But Cloud truly doesn't stand a chance against Sephiroth for story purposes. He never truly defeats Sephiroth in a 1 versus 1 situation, except for in the expulsion of Sephiroth from Cloud's mind. In truth Sephiroth is probably, by all means, the most powerful FF character ever. He controlled Emerald Weapon (uber monster), he controlled Ruby Weapon (even more uber monster), he damn near became a God by dropping Meteor onto the planet and absorbing all the energy the planet would use to heal itself, and he's an incredible warrior. I know, in a much much earlier post in some thread, I said Kenshin could take Sephiroth, but thinking about it, I don't think anyone could take Sephiroth. Sephiroth's loss in FFVII is one of those things where asshole game company execs think that you can't have the good guy lose, and so the bad guy has to lose by a VERY narrow margin, which, by story purposes, is all Seph lost by. All in all though, I think Seph could take Cloud. Make it a contest of norm attacks, no magic, no limits, no summons, no abilities. Sephiroth pwns all because he has superior life and still does almost 9999 dmg per hit, and thats just in Cloud's mind. Sephiroth himself is never truly defeated in FFVII, his bizarro and safer forms are, but he never fights in his normal form against Cloud in the real world, only in Cloud's mind, where it's impossible for Cloud to lose, because, well, it's in HIS mind. Cloud dies, chalk up another one for a TRUE badass.

Cloud is a FAILED ATTEMPT AT CLONING SEPHIROTH. Meaning he was not a successful clone of Sephiroth, he was lacking in the power that Sephiroth possessed. Read the rest of my post and understand what I mean. You can look it up if you like, but I'm pretty sure failure usually means something turned out with BAD results, as in WORSE than what you expected, meaning that Cloud turned out LESS powerful than the true God of Fight (i.e. Sephiroth).

Damn hard is ruby weapon? Most people consider him easier than Emerald. And all it takes is a bit of luck to beat either of them. Not like it's difficult to chain mime a double KotR. Ruby has no instant kill, so Emerald requires luck, Ruby requires chain KotR and the ability to not get bored with 15 minutes of the EXACT same crap. Besides, you HAVE to beat Ruby with one character, he sucks the other 2 under the sand.
The fact that Sephiroth already died once (in the Mt. Nibel reactor) and came back just goes to prove that he could make Cloud his bitch. Sephiroth with Final Attack materia paired with Phoenix=good night all. Too bad Sephy didn't get any materia 'cept the black materia. But Meteor alone is enough to wipe out everyone else in the fight. So I still say Sephy. The planet may have had the energy to help Holy stop one Meteor, but I bet it took most of the planet's energy, so another Meteor=everyone's fúcked and Sephy's left to absorb the remaining energy and become God like he originally planned.
But I'll tell ya who'd be the first to LOSE in a battle royale among all FF chars: Rufus. That kid was such a punkass bitch, Cloud at about lvl 10 coulda whupped his ass alone.

Bah, since we're going all technical, we'll go technical in my analysis then. If this were a battle royale and we didn't include all that random sh*t you guys added so you can have your fave charater win, i say it'll go like this... if it goes in the battle format of every final fantasy game (turn based) it would all go depending on who got first turn. and as far as i know, the people with the fastest stats in that go to the FF8 characters and Tidus. They have the fastest turn ratings, the rest cannot compare. Since we're going by fully powered characters, decked out with the best gear, and the highest levels, it'll still be tough to decide.

Honestly, stat-wise, Squall will win this fight. He can be customized to the highest possible stats in-game. And when has the first strike, he would go Renzokuken on everyone and do major damage to everyone. Win: Squall

Character-wise is a whole different story. We'll ignore all the emotional aspects for each person when in a weakened emotional state.

This is the order of who gets eliminated, with the first i say as the first out.

Tifa - Valiant try, but KO'ed quickly, taking stats into consideration, she's TOO balanced, no strengths.

Wakka - Second to go down, he may be able to go make hits from a distance, but he isn't fast enough to keep the distance. One of the competitors would close in fast enough and take him out.

Zidane - Job Class, theif. Launches grand leathal and is quick enough to dodge enough attacks.. but since it's battle royale, he is jumped and taken out.

Locke - Same reasons as Zidane, but has a longer fight due to that Equipment combo Rhys said. but eventually gets jumped because of his speed threat

Shadow - Evasive manuvers all around and striking when the time is right, gets him far enough past the first 4 to fall. But also, his threat of speed is taken into consideration and eliminated

Tidus - Too fast in the beginning and is able to last in the final four by using Delay Attack and stuff like that. Eventually gets struck down by either Squall, Cloud, or Seph since they have the edge in overall strength

Squall - The gunblade serves him well. in this 3 way sword fight with him, Cloud and Seph, the factor that destroys him is reach. Cloud and Seph has the clear advantage and slowly eliminate him

Final battle: Cloud vs. Sephiroth

We'll take this as Sephiroth with the powers of Jenova, since it is true that Seph is nothing w/o her and since this is a battle of FULL fighting potentials

Beginning of the fight, a massive sword battle occurs. Cloud's Buster Sword eventually snaps the Masamune in 2.
Advantage: Cloud

Sephiroth uses some insane spell that oblitherates the Buster sword.
Advantage: Sephiroth (Spell casting advantage)

Cloud does not go down w/o a spell battle fight. Walls and Hastes are casted. Multiple Cure3s and Full-cures are made and MP levels hit rock bottom 0
Advantage: No one

All comes down to a mano-a-mano fist fight. Cloud, only a mortal human fights with the whole Planet's strength behind him. Sephiroth, evil to the core of cores fights with the strength of Jenova behind him. Jenova powers win, but without pushing Sephiroth to the Extreme limit of his physical biology. Sephiroth wins, but without dying himself.

End result: no winner

My point? Don't pit your favorite characters against each other. It'll null out in the battle of good vs. evil and no winners in the end.

and this all goes back to my First-Turn reasoning. whoever has it gets to deal out all the damage. Whether it be Knights of the Round, Supernova, and Overdrive, Lionheart, or whatever it may be. it all depends on speed rating.

Well, I think that A battle could be decided if Square Enix makes a Final Fantasy Card Game. Lets face it, Depending on equipment, Cloud and Tidus could together be a little weaker than Squall or even a magic character like Eiko or Selphie. So if Square makes a truly awsome card game, we the people could control Victory or Defeat.Lets all just admit that would be cool.
(I do however think Cloud or Zidane would win.
