I think the show "Yu-Gi-Oh" is awesome. There. I said it. I'm not afraid to admit it. In fact, I'd bet that most of you reading this thread right now like "Yu-Gi-Oh" as well. Sure it is made for kids, it is anime, and it does have a lot in common with Pokemon, but when Yugi busts out his Flame Manipulator and morphs it together with his Masaki the legendary swordsman combing all their powers in one making the Flame Swordsman, and starts "goin' postal" on Maximillian Pegasus, I'm just not able to turn away.
Now you know that I like the televions series, but I have typed enough and I won't make you read how much the basic starter deck is.

Hmmm.... nah. Usually the people who say they don't like it, don't like it. I like Digimon, and I like the first Pokemon movie, but I DONT like Yu-Gi-Oh. The anime isn't all that great. It seems to bore me, and it's not so action packed either. You gasp as you have to take 10 minutes to decide whether your monster is eliminated in the next 30 seconds..

I don't like the animation either. It has its strong points, but more weak than strong. I can't stand the voices either.. BLAH... They're most likely not that bad in Japanese, but the English ones are just terrible. I mean.. Yugi does whatever and all of a sudden he has this amazimgly low, yet gay superheroish voice. Blah..

I will say this. Some of the monsters can be very cool. Whether they're in the series or just on the cards, some of them are very neat, and fun to draw!

WB has the worst anime ever. Yu gi oh is stupid because youare gonna kick some ones ass with your cards that come to freakin life. The only thing that is good about it is the opening theme. The show sucks and if you remove the voice that keeps saying yu gi oh then youhave a cool theme. So there you have it. It sucks.

Not for the fact that it's made for kids but it has no really good point in it. Where's the action? It's just a guy and some cards. They're playing some card game and he changes into some other form of himself and blah blah blah. Just too stupid. They're trying to be different with Yu-Gi-Oh, but instead they just end up being the same. The same as Pokemon and all those other silly little anime. Sure, it COULD be good. Okay, there are cool moments -_- But it's still gay. Pokemon was good in the first "season" but when they american WB decided they still wanted to make money off of it, and screwed it up ~_~ Which it wasn't really the best anime in the world. Nor is Yugi-oh. I never liked Yugi-oh too much, either. It's not a good anime, just people like it for its "cool moments". Get out and beyond Yu-gi-oh. I'll give you logical reasons on why Yu-Gi-Oh sucks:

1. The story is trite (a la Pokemon) and lacks substance to draw in a serious crowd.

2. Like someone said before, it's basically an advertisement to buy the actual card game. Imagine if Magic the Gathering went down the same route *shudder*.

3. It has many stereotypical anime elements and over exaggerates them for effects ("dragon attack!" and **** like that).

I've yet to see a logical reason on why you think it's a great anime.

I like the cards and play them with my cousins, but the first season of the show stunk. They didn't follow the rules to the game. Yugioh the tv show is only decent when you mute it.
I guess the manga is better because there is no lame voice acting.
the card game is childish compared to Magic. I can detest to this from watching a select few of my friends play it on a regular basis. Very little stradegy or thought is involved in it because the cards are so static, they hardly lead to any sort of interesting play or challenging play. it all boils down to who has the best cards and luck, which is lame.

I used to watch Yu-Gi-Oh but now I think its LAME! LAME! Sometimes I would just have my cousin or friends come over and we would make fun of it like hell! Okay, I like the cards but the show is like a drug. Once you see afew episodes, you become hooked. Because of that, I just watch it to see what happens but honestly, all in all. Okay, If Yu-gi-oh took up Big Os style of anime it too would look like Batman Beyond. The card game came after the series, so the cards are based off the anime.
If this had been vice-versa, the anime could have been pulled off a bit better.
The main problem with Yu-gi-oh is that if the main character is ever in a jam, the creator just makes up a new stronger card to get him out of it.

First off, Big o Art would be awsome and I think that the story is way too simple and finally they need more story twists like everyone who watches the show would find it ironic if something happened like if Kaiba and Tea ( I think thats how you spell her name) fell in love instead of how obvios it is that Yugi and Tea are crushin' each other. And the story should have a preset deck and actually try playing in real life to decide victory or defeat.

i really disslike the anime of yugioh, however, the manga wasnt that bad. i read a few in shonen jump and it seemed pretty kool, though i began to get to the parts with the cards coming into play and i started to get bored with it. perhaps its the cards that make it seem like crap to me. i guess i just enjoyed watching yugi be evil and make those demonic games to scare the crap outta people..lol. oh and btw, pokemon was awesome. and it would have been great if ash had just won that first tournament and the show would end. but they wanted to sell more crappy merchandise and released more and more seasons, making the plot so repetative that everyone hates it. but we all know that we never really hated it back then, right?

Such anger in today's youth... Very suprising. Yu-Gi-Oh... It's an alright show. It keeps people entertained. Horray. It's animation is kind of like the bastard child of CLAMP... too many dark lines. It's a whole bunch of filler and as many people have said the dubbed voices leave something to be desired. Though many of the posts seem to be mildly narrow minded. Putting Yu-Gi-Oh in the category of Eva or Scryed is not the way to go. Better animes in what sense? *shrugs* I've played the card game a couple times. It can be ummm... interesting. Magic is a little better when it comes to an actual strategy. Aparently my heart just isn't in the cards. ^_^ I am interested in watching it in Japanese. I heard it becomes a little more adult, as most animes tend to get. The WB can't handle much of anything.
